Just because. Because why not?
I love how Arctic Eggs’s “quirky” writing grasps the essence of being different, neurodivergent, internally free, and self-accepting. What is quirky for social “norms” and cultural “expectations” is often just another way of being for smaller groups. Non-hostile, non-demanding, just a different way of existing.
The issue lies in that DIFFERENT surprisingly often means DANGEROUS for ancient (and rather stupid) layers of our brain functions. There’s a word for such reactions, XENOPHOBIA. The bigger issue lies in the fact that we can despise xenophobia as long as we want to; still, its underlying mechanisms might be so powerful that even the most open-minded person might find themselves one day giving a side eye to something very different from them. What a fucking joke our brain is.
