Alright, folks, you've been witnessing a performance called "how inconsistent people with ADHD can be".
During the last weeks since I published the previous post, I'd either been eager to post sth new (but could not do so due to the lack of dopamine) or hadn't wanted to write anything at all (because people with ADHD always crave for novelty, doing new things is more attractive than continuing working on sth that already exists).
However, here we go. This post does a couple of things that I'm pleased about:
- It says "hi" to you, my audience. We're reestablishing the connection, so to speak.
- It shares something specific about ADHD, which might be fun if you haven't come across this bit of info previously.
- It highlights the fact that if I had a sincere urge to jot something down in public space, it means I had something to say, not just some yada yada yada.
Today was the very first today when I took one of the prescribed medicines, Vyvanse. It led to several strange sensations, from which the summit was spiraling into a never-ending feeling of "controlled" anxiety. On the top note of that spiraling, I managed to get through via extensive messaging in a casual group chat with people who are also into games and pop culture.
At some point, some of those people showed genuine interest in how I got diagnosed in Canada. I'm a newbie in this and not a medical doctor, obviously, but I'm a person who's been having practical experience in diagnosing, getting through accepting the fact of that diagnosis, taking those first pills, etc. So those people reminded me that I'm a bearer of somewhat important yet captivating knowledge. I'm very grateful to those folks.
So here we go, yes, here we go again.
