A great little book about a refugee girl who, when the Taliban took over in the 90's, fled Afghanistan and tried to find a better place in a town of Peshawar, Pakistan.

The book raises lots of rough topics, but does so with a light word so instead of being oppressed during reading, I was constantly admiring wit and perseverance of the main character.

The fact that I found this book on the street added depth to reading. Actually, I find books on streets pretty often, but that's another story 😉

The book was the third and final installment on its release in 2003, but in 2012 Deborah Ellis published the fourth book in the series.

I liked this one very much and gonna try and read the whole series sometime. I'm also pleased with the fact that the author is Canadian who was born in the same province where I reside now.
